Syllabus

Session Title Session Description Prerequisites
Fundamentals of the Shoot Through classroom and studio sessions we will present the skills that will enable you to plan your production and operate the equipment you will use for a video shoot. As an exercise you will use the equipment covered in the sessions to videotape a scenario.
  • Comfortable with using digital technology.
  • Ideas on how you can take advantage of video technologies
Post Production: Video Editing During this session, you will learn the techniques that will enable you to become comfortable working in a computer based video editing environment. This course will introduce you to the technology, familiarize you with the terminology, and guide you through the creation of a sample project. You will then be able to apply what you have learned to edit video using the computers in our lab and elsewhere.

  • Read and familiarize yourself with terminology for the session
Video Compression This session will introduce you to concepts and procedures for compressing video. You will become familiar with the many possible formats and settings available with streaming formats. Through our hands-on approach you will learn to set-up and compress several video clips in different formats and apply that knowledge to your projects.
