Course Goals and Objectives
The goal of this course is to understand social patterns and consequences
of, and strategies behind, policy making as it applies to gender.
Specific Objectives include:

To practice critical thinking with regard to public policy.

To recognize patterns in social forces and social effects.
-
To recognize patterns in primary cultural values of the United States and differences in subcultures.

To analyze agendas of interest groups.
-
To learn both sides of an issue before making up your mind.
-
To value understanding the historical background of modern day issues.
-
To objectively critique websites (of interest groups and other agencies)
for bias, accuracy, breadth, depth, and currency.
