ACTIVITY SPINNER

Purpose of Equipment: The purpose of this activity spinner is to give a variety of locomotor movements. Each time the spinner stops, it will describe a movement using three locomotor skills.
How to Make It: I made a large circle on the poster board base, and made 2 smaller circles on colored poster board. I drew off the the sections with a marker and labeled them. I then laminated the posters. I attached the spinner with a nut and bolt. I also made 2 additional smaller circles that can be used on the large circle for a broader variety of movements.
Costs: 2 pieces of poster board $0.50
Lamination 1.50
nut and bolt had available
$2.00
How to Use It: This can be used in a variety of ways. It can be used with a large or small group. You spin the spinner and it will point through 3 movements. Those 3 movements are called out and the children must do that movement combination. These can be used as a total group activity or team relays. Spin again and you will have another movement to call out.
