- Agility
- Throwing and catching
Materials/Equipment:
3 tennis balls marked with the numbers 1,2, & 3
Organizational Pattern:
- In contained area with boundaries
- Students in scattered formation when playing game
Description:
Place poly spots down at appropriate spots to indicate bases and number them 1,2, & 3. Have three balls numbered 1,2, & 3 and lay them in front of the marked poly spot for the throwing spot. Split the students into two teams. One team being the A team and one the B team. Each team should have an equal amount of students. Have the students on team B move into their self space within certain boundaries laid out. Have team A line up at a polly spot one after another.
Team A will be the throwing team and team B will be the field team. Team A will line up behind a polly spot in a single file line. One student from the A team will grab the three balls laid out in front of the poly spot and throw them. As he/she throws all three balls at one time, he/she runs through the bases laid out in the boundaries. Each base touched will be considered a point. After all the students in the team have thrown the ball, that will be their total team score. Team B must grab the balls thrown to them and lay them on the appropriate ball with the appropriate marked base. The whole team must work together by passing to each other to get the ball their the fastest. After all of team A has gone then it will be team B's turn to throw the balls. Now, team A will be the field team.
Modifications:
- Can have students kick a bigger ball
- Can have balls for all students
