Test Format for Florida Teacher Certification Exam for New Version

Kindergarten - Grade 6

The Kindergraten - Grade 6 consists of five sections: Language Arts; Social Science; Physical Education, Health, Music and Visual Arts; Mathematics; and Science and Technology.

You will receive separate test booklets for the morning and afternoon sections and an answer sheet on which to record your responses. Each question will contain four options, and you will record your selection by bubbling in A, B, C, or D on the answer sheet.

Question Format

Scenario: Examine a situation, problem, or case study. Then answer a question, make a diagnosis, or recommend a course of action by selecting the best response option (see Item 1).

Direct question: Choose the response option that best answers the question (see Item 2)

Command: Select the best response option (see Item 3).

Sentence completion: Select the response option that best completes the sentence (see Item 4).

Charts, graphs, and maps: Identify or interpret a diagram by choosing the response option that best answers the question (see Item 5).

Graphics: Choose the option that best answers a question involving a number line, a geometric figure, graphs of lines or curves, an table or a chart (see Item 6).

Word problems: Apply mathematical principles to solve a real-word problem (see Item 7).
