WebCT Fundamental Skills

Once you have a Web Enhanced WebCT account, you will be responsible for the basic day-to-day organization and management. The following WebCT skills are a starting point for you to successfully begin teaching online with a WebCT account. If you are comfortable completing these tasks independently, then you are ready to complete the "Assessment" components of Essentials, If you have questions on how to perform one or more of the tasks below, review Module 1.8 within the Essentials course.

  1. Auto-populate your initial course roster into WebCT.
  2. Update your student roster during Add/Drop period.
  3. Add a single student to the course.
  4. Set-up Grade Management columns.
  5. Create Discussion topics as needed.
  6. Compose an initial Discussion posting.
  7. Create and populate private Discussion groups.
  8. Manage Grades within the Student Management section.
  9. Backup and save WebCT account.
  10. Reset a course.
