Course Prerequisites:Before enrolling in this course, you should have taken ENC 1101 and ENC 1102 (or just ENC 1102 if you exempted ENC 1101) at UCF, or you must have equivalent transfer credit for these courses. Also, please see Expectations for Online Courses for a detailed discussion of the personal qualities, computer skills, and tools you should have to succeed in this class.
Course Overview:As a current or future technical professional, you will continually be required to communicate with others for all kinds of purposes, in all kinds of contexts, and in many kinds of documents--from correspondence to reports. Acquiring your technical knowledge is one challenge you face. Learning how to communicate this knowledge effectively to others is another equally important challenge. In your professional careers, you will often deal with others who share your technical background, and, in many cases, you will deal with people who have far more technical knowledge than you.
However, you will also often have to communicate technical information to people who have less technical knowledge than you do. This course will help you acquire the essential skills and knowledge necessary to express yourself clearly and concisely in your discipline to a variety of audiences.
