VALE CPAW DIRECTOR FOR ICELAND

It is with great sadness that I inform you of the premature passing of our CPAW Director for Iceland, Associate Professor, Dr. Laurel Anne Clyde. As an Australian national Dr. Clyde has been actively involved in many countries including Australia, Canada, Iceland, the United Kingdom and many developing countries. She has been a most amazing educator and pioneer in the use of telecommunications and the web, particularly in relation to school libraries throughout the world. In this brief tribute, it is not possible to mention all that Dr Clyde has done and her major contributions to education and CPAW but it is important to note that CPAW has gained much global exposure through her work and her scholarly publications. For many years Dr Clyde has been a very loyal supporter of CPAW. She had an amazing capacity for work. Her loss to CPAW,education and the world, is very great. However, I have no doubt that her name will
certainly be among the most eminent, dedicated and loyal educators the world has known.
