 Course Description:

Economically important plants in various cultures will be discussed based on morphology, anatomy, chemistry and their uses in everyday life. Related background information will be supplemented wherever necessary. The lecture material is designed for students with scientific background. Students are expected to learn and remember an array of technical terms.

 Required Text and Materials:

·         Plants & Society, 5th ed. Levetin & McMahon by McGraw-Hill, Inc. 2008.

·         Response pad for CPS use in the classroom. Gen 2 pads only. Older versions not accepted.

·         Separate ring binder and plenty of white papers for lecture notes.

·         Internet connection to use course homepage and other online resources.

·         Atleast 10 index cards: 3” x 5” size only.
