Diagnostic and Learning Resource System)
Each center is responsible for providing services such as workshops, materials,
and information dissemination to local constituents regarding the newest initiatives.
Florida Center for Reading
Research (FCRR) The mission of FCRR is to serve as part of Florida’s
“Leadership Triangle” for the Just Read, Florida! initiative and
to provide technical assistance and support to all districts and schools receiving
a Reading First Award; to conduct applied research that will have an immediate
impact on policy and practices related to literacy instruction and assessment
in Florida; to disseminate information about research-based practices related
to literacy instruction and assessment for children in pre-school through 12th
grade and to conduct basic research on reading, reading growth, reading assessment,
and reading instruction that will contribute to the scientific knowledge of
reading.
FIN(Florida Inclusion Network)
The FIN facilitators are available to provide technical assistance to schools
and districts who wish to develop, implement, and/or refine educational practices
which serve to further integrate students with disabilities. Technical
assistance is provided to teachers, paraprofessionals, principals, student services
personnel, FDLRS staff, resource teachers, district level administrators, university
staff, and parents.
FLaRE(Florida
Literacy and Reading Excellence)
The mission of Florida Literacy and Reading Excellence is to support the Florida
Department of Education in its statewide implementation of the Florida Reading
Initiatives by functioning as a principal informational delivery mechanism for
improving the early literacy and reading instruction to children and families
across the state of Florida.
Florida Online
Reading Professional Development (FOR-PD)
The purpose of FOR-PD is to offer an intensive, current, interactive, effective,
and efficient multimedia professional growth program in reading for teachers
in preK-12 classrooms.
FND (Collaborative
Partners: Family Network on Disabilities)
As a statewide network for families, the Family Network on Disabilities actively
provides support and information for families of students and children with
disabilities. Their mission is to maximize the quality of life for adults
with disabilities, improve outcomes for children with special needs, and provide
support, education, training, and information to families of children with disabilities.
Institute
For Small and Rural School Districts
The mission of the Institute for Small and Rural Districts is effective service
delivery. To accomplish its mission, the Institute has developed the capacity
to identify issues, provide technical assistance, and increase small and rural
service delivery by linking with other service providers and funding resources.
PAEC
The mission of PAEC is to enable all member and participating school districts
to attain their goals by providing leadership and support services, maximizing
the use of resources, linking schools, and facilitating communication across
the consortium.
Positive
Behavioral Support
PBS joins together home, school, and community resources to develop comprehensive
and effective supports for an individual with a problem behavior. Members of
the team contribute their knowledge, energy and resources to a person-centered
process that addresses issues of problem behaviors and achieves a broad quality
of life changes for the person.
